Many have only seen or heard of waterless grass (aka artificial turf) on a baseball field. Now though since everyone and everything is trying their best to go “green” to save the environment, artificial grass seems to have gotten both a new voice and a new home. That home is now located right in front of many residential homes out there today. Many landscapers are now using these artificial water less grass to make beautiful homes even more appealing, and homes that may not be as appealing a step up in beauty too.

Why would someone make the decision to change to artificial grass turf? Well the biggest reason would be regarding the conservation of water. By not having to water your grass to keep it looking lovely, that water can be used to help others in times of emergency or during a drought. The second reason is noted above, the beauty. Without watering, trimming, upkeep, your lawn will always look picture perfect. Not only will you be doing something great for the environment, but without lifting a finger you will have the best lawn in town!

If something like this has peaked your interest, you may be worrying about the cost before moving further. Actually, artificial turf is quite affordable these days too. When you sit down to compare the cost of the turf to the money that you will be saving with water and lawn maintenance, there really isn’t any valid reason why you shouldn’t get artificial grass for your home. The only real concern that you may have is to try to find a reputable company to install it properly. When choosing a company make sure that they are accredited in this area. You’ll also want to choose a company that not only will install it, but will tell you the correct way on how to take care of it also. Of course you are not going to water it or pull out your lawnmower, but there are specific cleaning products and treatments they will need to advise you of.

Artificial grass is a low cost, low maintenance alternative to real grass. If you hate maintaining your lawn and hate the amount of water you use while doing it, this may be just the solution you need.
