Consider Artificial Grass for a Low Maintenance Lawn
Home Improvement July 22nd. 2010, 6:08amThese days many homeowners are pressed for time. Taking care of their yard can eat up a lot of valuable free time that a homeowner might have. One way to lessen the amount of time that you have to spend taking care of your yard is to install artificial grass instead of having a traditional grass lawn.
With live grass you need to water the lawn when the weather is hot and dry, add fertilizer should it not be growing too well, reseed any spots where the grass has died, and mow the lawn to keep it at a good height. You also need to use chemicals to get rid of any dandelions and weeds that might be present. With artificial grass, all you need to do is spray off or brush off any debris from time to time.
Some people have a particularly hard time getting real grass to grow on their property. It could be due to a lot of shade, or the fact that the soil is not very good quality. Some areas seem to always have watering bans, which makes it illegal to water your yard, resulting in dead grass that you will need to replace. Any of these problems can be solved with artificial grass.
If you are worried about what will happen should your artificial lawn get really wet, you don’t need to. These days these lawns are made so that they are water permeable. The water can drain through so that you don’t have to worry about this, and the rain will actually help to keep your artificial lawn clean so you have less maintenance to worry about.
Although the initial costs for an artificial grass lawn might seem a bit high, when you think of how much money you will save in lawn care supplies and how much more free time you will have you will see that the price really is worth it. These lawns will make it easy for busy people to have a nice green looking lawn without having to spend a lot of time caring for it. This will let you spend your free time doing things you really love.
