There is a fascinating and enduring quality about bamboo blinds. Since it was first created and used in the imperial palaces in the far eastern countries to the present day, bamboo blinds have always been seen as a useful piece of decor in homes. In the past few years, the western world has caught up with the fascination of this type of blinds which their counterparts in the east have always known. Bamboo blinds are known for their simplicity, easy to maintain and installed as well as they get the job done which is to provide shades as well as to beautify homes and offices. They are not that popular in the modern offices except for some very niche theme offices where the owner wants to project some oriental look and feel to the decor of the office. Bamboo blinds are mainly horizontal in nature although there are manufacturers out there that manufactures vertical ones but the demand for vertical bamboo blinds are not really there yet. The bamboo blinds nowadays are available in all sort of sizes and shapes. Some of the blinds are made to look like the bamboos in the wild in order to provide the authenticity or outdoor feel. This is especially popular among the more traditional homes or themed homes with an outdoor or oriental decor. The other design which is more like normal wooden shades are popular among western homes as they wouldn’t look out of place in the western decor. Maintaining bamboo blinds are a breeze as they are durable so you can easily dust it off or use a vacuum cleaner. Wiping it with water is also fine but not too much of it otherwise it might lose its shine.

Speaking of vertical blinds, we know that they are mainly used in offices and also some homes, there are not many that are made out of bamboo or wood at this point of time. Currently both vertical and bamboo blinds don’t go very well together in the same home but that could change in the near future. This is especially true as manufacturers are coming out with more innovative design for blinds and some of them are already incorporating vertical and bamboo blinds together but most of them are just for market experimenting rather than mass produced.
